Tron (波场) chain activities surge, regaining dominance in USDT surpassing Ethereum
According to CryptoQuant's latest report, Tron (TRX) — a low-cost, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain — saw a comprehensive surge in on-chain metrics in the first half of 2025.
Transaction volume skyrocketed: The daily average transfer amount increased by 67% year-on-year. In May 2025 alone, Tron processed 273 million transactions involving 28.7 million addresses — setting a record high since 2023. On average, each on-chain wallet processed over 10 transactions.
Network fees hit record levels: In June 2025, Tron collected $308 million in transaction fees — a historical high — with an average fee of just $1.18.
TRX growth remains strong: In June 2025, Tron transferred over 20 billion TRX (worth $5.4 billion), a 61% increase compared to June 2024. The TRX price rose from $0.25 to $0.33 in 2025, an increase of 33%.
Leading the USDT market: Tron issued 80.8 billion USDT, surpassing Ethereum's 73 billion, and received $21 billion in USDT inflow in the first half of 2025. On June 26, Tron's USDT transaction volume reached $24.6 billion, 2.7 times that of Ethereum.
