Harvard holds $117 million in BlackRock spot Bitcoin ETF shares
Flash news: Harvard University’s investment portfolio held $117 million worth of shares in BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) as of the end of Q2, according to a filing on Aug. 9. This is Harvard’s fifth-largest holding, ranking above Alphabet ($114 million) and behind Microsoft (over $310 million). IBIT currently manages $84 billion in assets and has been attracting strong institutional interest. Previously, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund held over $500 million in IBIT, while the State of Michigan Retirement System reported holding nearly $11 million in ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF shares.
