Etherium Price From Origin to Today ✊🚀 $ETH Ethereum Price History: 2015 to 2025 Ethereum (ETH), the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has seen a remarkable journey since its launch in 2015. From being a developer-focused blockchain experiment to powering the global DeFi and NFT boom, ETH’s price history reflects its growing adoption and technological evolution. 2015 – The Beginning Ethereum was officially launched in July 2015, with its initial price around $0.75. In the first few months, it traded below $1, attracting early adopters and blockchain developers. 2016 – Early Growth and DAO Hack By early 2016, ETH surged to around $15, thanks to rising interest in smart contracts. However, the infamous DAO hack in June 2016 caused a market shock, dropping ETH below $10. 2017 – First Bull Run Ethereum joined the crypto bull run, fueled by ICOs built on its network. ETH hit an all-time high of $826 by December 2017. 2018 – The Crypto Winter Following the market crash, ETH plummeted to $85 in December 2018, as investor interest cooled and the ICO bubble burst. 2019–2020 – Consolidation and DeFi Boom ETH traded between $100–$400 for most of this period, but the DeFi boom in 2020 pushed it above $700 by year-end. 2021 – All-Time High In 2021, NFTs and DeFi adoption fueled a meteoric rise. ETH reached its all-time high of $4,878 in November 2021. 2022 – Bear Market and Merge Upgrade The global economic downturn and crypto market crash brought ETH below $900 in June 2022. However, the Ethereum Merge in September 2022, which shifted the network to Proof-of-Stake, helped restore investor confidence. 2023–2024 – Recovery Phase Ethereum slowly recovered, trading between $1,500–$3,000, supported by layer-2 scaling solutions and growing institutional interest. 2025 – Current Outlook As of 2025, ETH trades in the $3,800–$4,200 range, with analysts projecting potential new highs due to ETH ETFs, expanding DeFi use cases, and global adoption of blockchain technology.
