Token $ERA is used as a gas token for operations in Metalayer to pay for transactions, initiate cross-chain interactions, and disseminate data between blockchains in the Caldera ecosystem.
Validators and Security. Validator nodes can stake their tokens to secure the network and verify cross-chain transactions. The more tokens staked, the higher the participation and influence of the node in the decentralized validator network. This same security model is used for application networks and zero-knowledge proof generation.
