🇺🇸 Trump nominates crypto supporter to Fed board
US President Donald Trump has nominated crypto deregulator Stephen Miran to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors for a term that runs through January 2026. The post was previously held by Adriana Kugler.
Miran is an advocate for easing cryptocurrency regulations and has criticized excessive restrictions. He previously held positions at the US Treasury Department and Fidelity Investments, and served as a senior strategist at Hudson Bay, which invested in claims in the FTX bankruptcy case.
Miran's appointment comes amid Trump's public standoff with Fed Chairman Jerome Powell.
