U.S. Prepares to Release Section 232 Tariff Report

The U.S. government is set to publish the results of its Section 232 investigation, which examines strategic global sectors such as semiconductors, pharmaceutical ingredients, servers, critical components, and key minerals.

After the release, President Donald Trump will have a 90-day window to review the findings and decide on actions. During this period, other nations will have an opportunity to negotiate with the U.S., following a model similar to the reciprocal tariff discussions held in April.

Although immediate tariff implementation is unlikely, the administration is expected to propose an investment framework, potentially involving varied investment commitments in exchange for reduced tariff rates.

Analysts anticipate that semiconductor tariffs could range from 20% to 35%, depending on the terms reached during negotiations.
