$Towns is a decentralized messaging protocol
built on Base, an Ethereum $ETH Layer‑2 chain using OP‑Stack technology. It enables private, programmable group chats (“Spaces”) with on‑chain subscription tokens, reputation systems, and encrypted messaging .
Each Space is represented by an ERC‑721 NFT, granting the creator control over membership rules, governance, pricing, and permissions. Membership is managed via tokens that can be renewed and controlled dynamically .
