SharpLink raises $200 million to expand ETH treasury, targeting over $2 billion Publicly listed gaming company SharpLink Gaming (ticker: SBET), now repositioned as an Ethereum treasury play under the leadership of Consensys founder Joe Lubin, has signed an agreement with four institutional investors to raise $200 million through an at-the-market stock offering at $19.50 per share. The proceeds will be used to purchase additional Ethereum (ETH), with the company projecting its ETH treasury to exceed $2 billion upon full deployment. The deal is expected to close within the week. SharpLink has become one of the largest publicly traded holders of ETH, part of a broader trend of "crypto treasury" firms that emerged earlier this year. In July, former BlackRock executive Joseph Chalom joined as co-CEO to spearhead the company’s ETH strategy. Previously, SharpLink filed with the SEC to raise $1 billion through shelf registration, which was increased to $6 billion in mid-July to expand capital-raising capacity via equity and debt issuance. Alliance Global Partners is the lead placement agent for the current round, with Societe Generale serving as co-placement agent and Cantor as financial advisor.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs end outflow streak with $91.5 million in inflows U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs ended a four-day streak of net outflows with $91.5 million in inflows on Wednesday, according to SoSoValue data. BlackRock’s IBIT led with $42 million, followed by Bitwise’s BITB with $26.35 million and Grayscale’s GBTC with $14.5 million. Meanwhile, Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB saw $5.37 million in outflows. Spot Ethereum ETFs also recorded $35.12 million in net inflows yesterday, mainly driven by BlackRock’s ETHA ($33.39 million). Grayscale’s ETHE saw $10 million in inflows, while the Mini Ethereum Trust faced $8.67 million in outflows. The return of inflows signals renewed institutional confidence as Bitcoin trades steadily around the $114,000–$115,000 range.

Etherex launches REX token on Linea with decaying fee mechanism Etherex, a new DEX built on Linea (an Ethereum Layer 2 network by Consensys), officially launched its REX token on August 6. To prevent bot activity, initial REX buys carry a 50% fee that gradually decreases to 2% within 30 minutes. Launched on July 28, 2025, Etherex is a collaboration between Linea, Consensys, and Nile. The platform uses a tokenomics model similar to Ramses v3: no team allocations and all fees go to token holders. In addition to REX, the ecosystem also includes xREX and REX33 — a model that allows users to buy and sell voting rights instantly without locking tokens for four years. REX incorporates auto-compounding and x(3,3) tokenomics, aiming to build a “smarter” DeFi stack. As of 3:00 a.m. ET, REX was trading at approximately $0.604 with a market cap of $213.5 million, according to Dexscreener. Ethereum co-founder and Consensys CEO Joseph Lubin commented: “REX unlocks a new layer of liquidity coordination for Linea and the broader Consensys ecosystem, moving closer to a modular, programmable DeFi stack.”
