Strategy once again makes a large purchase of Bitcoin: According to reports from the Finance Association, billionaire Michael Saylor's software company Strategy (formerly known as 'MicroStrategy') disclosed in an 8-K form on August 4 that the company purchased $2.46 billion worth of Bitcoin between July 28 and August 3, increasing its holdings by 21,021 Bitcoin. Its total holdings have risen to 628,791 Bitcoin, estimated to be worth over $71 billion at current prices.
Metaplanet plans to raise funds to increase Bitcoin holdings: Japanese listed investment company Metaplanet announced on August 4 that its latest transaction involved spending $53.7 million to acquire 463 Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 17,595 Bitcoin. The company's CEO Simon Gerovich revealed plans to raise 555 billion yen (approximately $3.7 billion) through the issuance of perpetual preferred shares to further expand Bitcoin holdings.
In addition, the Trump Media Technology Group has recently accumulated about $2 billion in Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related securities. Meanwhile, Citigroup released a report predicting that the price of Bitcoin could rise to $135,000 by the end of 2025, with an optimistic scenario potentially soaring to $199,000.
