According to reports, the Indian social gaming platform STAN recently announced the completion of an $8.5 million equity financing round, led by Google AI Futures Fund, with participation from companies such as Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Reazon Holdings, Aptos Labs, King River Capital, General Catalyst, and GFR Fund. The STAN platform allows users to earn in-app currency 'Gems' through competitive games like PUBG Mobile. Users can also pay specific social currency to join 'Club' chat rooms created by content creators and enjoy 'gaming experiences' provided by them; the company charges a transaction fee for this. Gems can be redeemed for vouchers on platforms like Amazon, PhonePe, and Flipkart. STAN has surpassed 25 million downloads on Google and Apple app stores, with approximately 5.5 million monthly active users.
