Ripple plans to create its own bank
The new bank, sponsored by Ripple Labs, will be called Ripple National Trust Bank (RNTB).
RNTB is being established to service the stablecoin RLUSD and does not plan to issue retail loans or insure deposits.
At the same time, the presence of a trust bank will allow Ripple to conduct payments faster and save costs by bypassing intermediary banks, as well as enhance legitimacy after many years of regulatory uncertainty.
