The planners are offering a reward of 0.1 Bitcoin (BTC) for information leading to the theft.

On August 3rd, according to media reports, the suspected theft of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue in the Ciani Park of Lugano, Switzerland, garnered widespread attention in the digital currency community.

The Satoshi Nakamoto statue, funded by Tether and the City of Lugano's 'Plan B' initiative, is the result of 18 months of research and three months of construction by Italian artist Valentina Piccioli.

The statue, officially unveiled to the public on October 25, 2024, commemorates the unknown creator of Bitcoin, representing a symbol of the community's respect for this leading digital currency.

Following the incident, Satoshi Gallery, the company responsible for constructing the statue, rushed to respond and announced on platform X a reward of 0.1 Bitcoin (equivalent to about $12,000) for information leading to the theft, stating: "You can steal our symbols, but you cannot steal our souls."

Satoshi Gallery also announced that it will continue, despite this incident, to install Satoshi Nakamoto statues in 21 cities around the world as planned.

The Swiss police have initiated an official investigation, but have yet to disclose specific details. This incident is unique, as the stolen Satoshi Nakamoto statue is not just a public artwork, but also a spiritual symbol of cryptocurrency culture, with a symbolic significance that far exceeds its monetary value.

At the same time, the theft of the Satoshi Nakamoto statue is not just a simple theft; it also reveals the growing impact of cryptocurrency culture in the real world.

The Satoshi Gallery's reward demonstrates its strong stance on preserving the cultural symbols of the cryptocurrency community.

We await the results of the investigation, hoping that the statue will be returned, and that this incident will enhance public understanding and awareness of the cultural heritage value of cryptocurrencies.
