Citigroup and JPMorgan Lead TradFi Blockchain Investment Wave

According to reports from HashKey, the latest report published by Ripple in collaboration with CB Insights and the UK Blockchain Technology Center shows that Citigroup, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and Japan's SBI Group have become the most active participants in the traditional financial sector supporting blockchain startups. From 2020 to 2024, banks worldwide made a total of 345 investments in blockchain companies, most of which were in the early financing stage. Citigroup and Goldman Sachs led with 18 investments, followed closely by JPMorgan and MUFG with 15 investments each. Over the four years, these banks participated in 33 rounds of such financing, investing in companies focused on trading infrastructure, tokenization, custody, and payment solutions.
