According to BlockBeats, new regulations from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will allow retail investors to purchase cryptocurrency exchange-traded notes (cETNs) starting October 8. These cETNs must be listed on FCA-approved UK trading platforms and adhere to financial promotion and consumer responsibility rules. While retail users will have access to cETNs, they will not be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
The FCA had previously banned retail investors from accessing crypto ETNs in 2021 due to concerns over investor protection.
