Techub News reports, according to CoinDesk, that the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will allow UK retail investors to invest in cryptocurrency exchange-traded notes (cETNs) starting from October 8. cETNs must be listed on UK domestic exchanges approved by the FCA and comply with financial promotion and consumer protection rules. It is important to note that while retail investors can purchase cETNs, this product is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The FCA previously banned retail investors from purchasing cryptocurrency ETNs in 2021 on the grounds of investor protection.
