Following the article published by IBM on the advances in quantum computing research, Musk asked Grok about the likelihood that quantum computing would break the Bitcoin algorithm (SHA-256).

Grok responded that, according to estimates for 2025 based on surveys conducted by NIST, IBM, and experts, the probability that quantum computing will break SHA-256 is "almost zero" in the next five years and below 10% by 2035. This would require millions of error-corrected quantum bits, while current systems only support about 1,000 noisy quantum bits. The Bitcoin hash value remains secure for now.
