The SEC plans nationwide roundtable meetings to improve dialogue on cryptocurrency regulation

According to Foresight News, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced that its Cryptocurrency Task Force will visit several cities across the United States in the coming months to hold a series of roundtable meetings. These events aim to provide more stakeholders in the cryptocurrency sector the opportunity to interact directly with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce.

The initiative especially welcomes representatives from cryptocurrency startups with fewer than ten employees and established for less than two years. This approach seeks to ensure that the development of regulatory policies is comprehensive and diverse. Commissioner Peirce expressed her desire to hear from those who were unable to attend the roundtable meeting in Washington held in the spring, emphasizing that the regulatory framework will have a profound impact on the industry. The SEC aims to achieve a broader outreach effect through extensive communication.

Representatives of interested projects can apply via email, detailing their team composition and an overview of the project, and specifying the city in which they wish to participate. The SEC plans to publicly disclose the list of participating projects to encourage transparent dialogue and public participation.

This series of roundtable meetings is seen as a crucial step by the SEC to promote openness and inclusion in cryptocurrency regulatory policy.
