With Linea releasing its tokenomics, let’s take a closer look and think about potential LINEA airdrop scenarios.

Total supply: 72 billion LINEA
Circulating supply at TGE: 15.8 billion LINEA (about 22%)
- 75% ecosystem growth, public goods funding, research and development
- 15% Consensys treasury (locked for 5 years)
- 9% early users
- 1% developers
Other important details:
- 20% of net gas fee income will be consumed
- 80% will be used for LINEA expenditure
Airdrop
At TGE, the circulating supply will be 22%. 12% of it will be used to support exchange liquidity and market makers, provide liquidity, grant time-sensitive developers, and partnerships.
1% is allocated to strategic developers, and thus the remaining 9% (6.48 billion LINEA) is allocated to early users holding LXP tokens. Interestingly, LXP-L token holder rewards are treated separately and are included in the ecosystem fund at a rate of 75%.
As the Linea team mentioned, certain limits will be applied, so let's assume there are at least 1,500 LXP tokens.
This raises the number of eligible wallets to about 500,000. So, 6.48 billion / 500,000 = 12,960 LINEA allocation per user.

Token price
First, there is no pre-trading with significant trading volume to rely on. So let's try to compare a potential valuation of LINEA with three major second-level airdrops in the past: Arbitrum, Scroll, and ZKsync. Both FDV at TGE and current FDV will be considered. If Linea launches at:
Arbitrum FDV value at TGE ($12 billion) => 12,960 LINEA = $2,160
Current Arbitrum FDV value ($3.9 billion) => 12,960 LINEA = $702
Scroll FDV value at TGE ($1.2 billion) => 12,960 LINEA = $216
Current Scroll FDV value ($0.28 billion) => 12,960 LINEA = $51
ZKsync FDV value at TGE ($2.9 billion) => 12,960 LINEA = $522
Current ZKsync FDV value ($1.06 billion) => 12,960 LINEA = $191
Final note
Interestingly, there is no allocation for venture capital in LINEA, so selling pressure is expected to be low on the first day.
