Coin World News reports that the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has opened retail channels for cryptocurrency ETNs, stating that companies will soon be able to offer retail investors access to cryptocurrency exchange-traded notes (cETNs). The cryptocurrency ETNs that retail investors can trade must be traded on UK investment exchanges approved by the FCA (i.e., Recognized Investment Exchanges, or RIEs). The FCA's ban on retail access to crypto asset derivatives will remain in effect. The FCA will continue to monitor market developments and consider its approach to high-risk investments.
