Trump Signs Order Imposing 20% Tariff on Taiwan
U.S. President Trump signed an order on Thursday night imposing additional tariffs on dozens of countries worldwide, with the tariff rate for Taiwan set at 20%. The additional tariffs recently announced by the U.S. will be delayed until August 7.
Although this tariff rate on Taiwan is significantly lower than the 32% announced in early April, it is still higher than the 15% imposed on Taiwan's main competitors, Japan and South Korea.
