summary of what happened
On July 30, the Chicken Farm contract was attacked by a malicious player who exploited a vulnerability and drained around 65% of the shared fund (over 50,000 WLD!), which affected the internal balance of the game.
📌 Important: Chicken Ville was not hacked, but we paused its contract as a precaution because it shared part of the same code.
💥 What happened?
A player deployed a custom contract to abuse the egg purchase function, sending WLD to their own wallet instead of the game's. This allowed them to collect enormous amounts of eggs without adequately contributing, and they repeated the trick several times until draining the fund.
It was not a problem with the game's economy or with the players — it was a smart contract issue, and we are working on a complete technical analysis.
🧠 What’s next?
We are considering two paths forward:
Restart the game with a new contract, migrating all current accounts and using the remaining WLD + personal funds to rebuild.
Scale and relaunch Chicken Farm with new game features. Current players will receive a boost as compensation for staying with us.
