On July 29, Linea, a Layer 2 solution on Ethereum by Consensys, announced details about its LINEA token.
Some important points, such as the date of the token generation event (TGE), have yet to be confirmed. Details about the airdrop and supply management strategy also remain unknown.
9% of the total LINEA supply is allocated for the airdrop.
According to the official blog and social media, the total supply of the LINEA token is 72 billion tokens. This volume is 1,000 times greater than the initial supply of ETH. This is a significant figure for a Layer 2 token.
Since Linea is developed by Consensys — one of the leading organizations in the Ethereum ecosystem — the token launch could attract considerable attention from the Web3 community, especially among early users who have already worked with the testnet or the Linea bridge. However, there is currently no official information on who will receive the airdrop.
