President Trump provides his most complete account of why and when he ended his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, but he leaves some questions unanswered.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein ended because Epstein had poached young female spa workers from his Mar-a-Lago Club.

Trump confirmed that one of the women hired away by Epstein was Virginia Giuffre, one of the best known and most outspoken victims of Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump provided his most extensive account of how and why he had ended a decades-long relationship with Epstein, who pleaded guilty to sex offenses and died in custody in 2019. His death was ruled a suicide.

“I think she worked at the spa. I think so. I think that was one of the people. Yeah, he stole her.”

“And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever,” Trump said.

Giuffre said in a 2016 deposition that she was working at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 when she was approached by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s partner. Maxwell is serving a 20-year-prison sentence for helping provide girls to Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring.

Giuffre said her father worked in the maintenance department at Mar-a-Lago “and he got me a summer job there.” She was working as a locker room attendant for just a few weeks when she was approached by Maxwell.
