U–US Trade Pact Reached Tariff War Averted!
Just before the August 1 deadline, Washington and Brussels struck a major trade deal.
🔹 Zero-for-zero tariffs on select goods like aircraft parts, semiconductors & generics
🔹 15% max tariff cap half of Trump’s threatened 30%
🔹 EU pledges:
• $750B US energy purchases
• $600B in private US investments
• Hundreds of billions in US military equipment buys
But steel & aluminum tariffs (50%) stay untouched.
While markets breathe a sigh of relief, some EU sectors (like autos) still feel pressure.
📜 Ratification pending.
Global trade just pivoted and the real impact is just beginning.
