#CryptoScamSurge

Brad Garlinghouse has urged XRP investors to be vigilant against the wave of scams spreading across the ecosystem. The CEO pointed out that the latest scam involves impersonating Ripple's official accounts on the video streaming platform YouTube.

In his post, Garlinghouse noted that scams are a collateral effect of Ripple's regulatory success and the sudden rise in the price of XRP. Last week, XRP reached a new all-time high (ATH) amid predictions of a prolonged rally to reach double digits. In addition to the price surge, on-chain activity has skyrocketed on the XRP Ledger, attracting hordes of scammers to the ecosystem.

Brad Garlinghouse's comments come after a previous public service announcement from Ripple on X, warning that company executives would not ask investors to send XRP. According to the notice, scammers often lure victims by offering XRP giveaways in exchange for an initial deposit from investors.

Additionally, scammers use deepfake videos of Ripple executives to conceal their illegal activities. Previously, Ripple's CTO, David Schwartz, exposed a deepfake video of Brad Garlinghouse, who claimed to be offering an XRP airdrop to investors.

"We have noticed an increase in XRP scams on YouTube," the warning stated. "Scammers steal accounts and then update the page to impersonate Ripple's official account."

Brad Garlinghouse urged users to continue reporting accounts that offer false investment schemes in XRP. Meanwhile, Ripple is no stranger to waves of scams, with the ecosystem flooded with a barrage of fake investment schemes following its partial victory in 2023 against the U.S. SEC.
