A report from the Financial Times revealed that the EU and the US are about to sign a trade agreement that will impose tariffs of 15% on all European tariffs. Currently, EU exporters pay higher tariffs on certain products shipped to the US since April, but if the agreement fails, the bloc could face tariffs of up to 30%.
In mid-July, Trump announced tariffs of 30% on the EU starting August 1 to eliminate trade disparities. At that time, the President of the EU, Von der Leyen, noted that the economic bloc would begin negotiations with the US to reach an agreement.
However, the report states that the EU is preparing a package of retaliatory tariffs if the parties do not reach an agreement before August 1. Meanwhile, the United States and Japan have reached a trade agreement, generating excitement for a similar agreement with the EU. Previously, Trump's dismissal of the extensions of tariff deadlines caused the price of BTC and other cryptocurrencies to fall.
