NEW - A major incident has been declared by police in Bristol UK, with a man arrested and a large number of people evacuated from their homes. The bomb squad are currently on the scene and a 100m cordon is in place.

UPDATE - Police have said cordon will remain in place for at least the next few of hours as a precaution. Residents have been told not to return home until it is safe to do so.
