🚨 Ethereum prepares to test new gas limit: 45 million per block?

The gas limit per block of the Ethereum network has risen to 37.3 million, and nearly 50% of validators with ETH in staking are already signaling support for an increase to 45 million, in anticipation of the Fusaka Devnet 3 — a crucial test for the Mainnet's capacity and client stability.

🔍 What is happening?

🧾 Validators support increase: About 47% to 49% of validators are in favor of the new gas limit, as part of the "pump the gas" movement, which aims to increase the efficiency of layer 1.

🛠️ Ongoing updates: The main teams of Ethereum clients — Prysm, Nimbus, Lodestar, and Lighthouse — have committed to implementing the new limit by the end of July, preparing the ground for intensive testing of Devnet 3.

📈 Next scalability milestone: The tests of Fusaka Devnet 3 (scheduled for July 21 and 22) will simulate high-capacity blocks. The goal: to advance towards future increases that could raise the limit to 60 million gas or more.
