Have you heard? That studio Delabs that does blockchain games has got a lot of money again! This time they raised $5.2 million (approximately over 37 million RMB) all at once, and combined with what they raised before, they've raised a total of $17.2 million! If this money were converted into hundred yuan bills, it would probably fill up a room, right?

The lead investors are several well-known investment institutions, called Hashed, TON Ventures, and Kilo Fund, and there are a bunch of big shots following them in the funding. If you ask me, these investors are really eyeing the gaming sector, especially those newfangled things that come with blockchain and AI.

Their studio has been quite mysterious, saying they want to create an AI game creation platform called Verse8. In simple terms, making games in the future might be like building with blocks, using AI to help create a blockchain game. I think this is quite similar to those "one-minute PPT generation" tools online, but they are aiming for game development; it sounds high-end!

Actually, many game companies are boasting about AI empowerment these days, but very few can truly innovate. Delabs has raised so much money this time; if the game they produce isn't even more fun than "Honor of Kings," that would be awkward. But since they can attract this much investment, they must still have some real skills, right?

Now, these new concept games are most afraid of just boasting without delivering. Just look at how many metaverse projects have made extravagant claims, yet ended up not producing a decent game at all. I hope that what they say about "accelerating AI game implementation" isn't just a pipe dream! After all, what we players care about most is whether the game is fun or not; whether it uses blockchain or how advanced the AI is, that's secondary.
