BlockBeats news, on July 22, according to Decrypt, researchers from the cybersecurity company c/side reported that malicious Monero XMR mining software has attacked multiple websites, with a resurgence of cryptojacking waves, affecting at least 3,500 websites running maliciously injected hidden Monero (XMR) mining scripts. Unlike traditional cryptojacking, this malware avoids the obvious characteristics of conventional cryptojacking by limiting CPU usage and hiding traffic within WebSocket streams. Hackers employ a 'stay low, mine slow' strategy to target unpatched websites and e-commerce servers.
