In a fiery post on Truth Social this morning, former President Donald Trump lashed out at the decentralized oracle network Chainlink (LINK), accusing it of being “a Russian backdoor into American finance” and calling on regulators to “shut it down before it becomes the next TikTok.”
> “Chainlink is a Trojan horse — totally infiltrated by Russia, worse than TikTok,” Trump wrote. “The Deep State and the Silicon Valley people LOVE it. It’s a disaster for American blockchain innovation.”
The comments appear to stem from unconfirmed reports that a Moscow-based investment firm with ties to the Russian Central Bank recently acquired a 7.5% stake in a European Chainlink node validator. Though Chainlink’s decentralized architecture makes control over the network nearly impossible, Trump claimed the move could allow “hostile actors to manipulate smart contracts.”
