July 22: Update $OP Optimism Superchain
What is happening: the Optimism Layer 2 solution is launching a large-scale Superchain update after a successful vote on July 17.
Technical improvements:
Upgrade of smart contracts to enhance compatibility between networks
Increase of gas limits to 500 million per block
Enhancement of decentralization and security levels
What is important to know: the update will affect the main networks of the ecosystem — OP Mainnet, Base, Ink, and Unichain. Possible integration with Coinbase Layer-2 solution Base is also planned.
