#noticiascripto 🚨🔥Tesla faces a five-day legal showdown in Oakland after the California Department of Motor Vehicles accused the company of blatant lying about what its Autopilot and Full Self-Driving features can actually do.

The DMV wants Tesla's dealer license to be suspended or revoked, saying it misled Californians by claiming its vehicles could drive themselves, when they absolutely could not. According to Bloomberg, the DMV filed this complaint after reviewing how Tesla promoted its systems in 2021 and 2022.

The hearing, which begins this week, is being handled by an administrative judge. It comes at a time when Tesla is also facing a separate nationwide trial in Miami, where jurors are being asked whether Autopilot contributed to the death of a pedestrian in 2019.

In that accident, a driver of a Tesla Model S who was allegedly distracted struck and killed someone while the car was in Autopilot. Tesla denied responsibility in both that case and in the California DMV proceeding.

The California hearing targets Tesla's license for misleading claims.

The DMV complaint states that Tesla violated state law by advertising its driver assistance systems as if they were fully autonomous driving technology. They pointed to the company's statements suggesting that cars could make "short and long-distance trips without requiring action in the driver's seat."
