CoinWorld reported that Coinbase officially stated that starting from July 21, 2025, U.S. users will be able to trade CFTC-regulated perpetual futures through the Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), marking the arrival of the largest global trading volume derivative type on the platform. Coinbase mentioned that for many years, U.S. cryptocurrency traders could only watch as their international counterparts utilized one of the most popular tools in the digital asset market—perpetual futures. These innovative derivatives offer higher leverage and eliminate the monthly expiration issue, accounting for 90% of global cryptocurrency trading volume. Due to the complex regulatory environment, U.S. traders have been unable to participate. However, this situation is about to change.
