Actually, many people lose big money in a bull market because they get overly excited, fear of missing out (FOMO) makes them chase high leverage, and they don't set stop losses, holding onto their positions.
Using a strategy of buying during a rise can indeed work when market sentiment is good, but the prerequisite is to set strict stop losses for every trade, or to use high leverage per position, with liquidation serving as the stop loss.
