PANews, July 21 - NIO's Legal Department issued a stern statement on July 19 regarding malicious rumors on the internet: 'Recently, some online accounts have maliciously published false information about our company and employees, deliberately fabricating and spreading false content such as “employees of NIO involved in manipulating black PR” and “hiring trolls to attack competitors.” Such statements seriously violate the facts and are purely malicious slander and defamation against NIO and our employees. We have noticed that online accounts, including 'Awen Jianji', have forwarded and commented without verifying the authenticity of the content. A so-called screenshot of a report circulating online shows that the 'details of virtual currency transactions' and 'evidence compilation materials' are all fabricated out of thin air and are false information generated by AI. NIO has always insisted on legal and compliant operations and firmly opposes any form of online black PR and troll activities. In response to this malicious defamation, our company has reported to the public security organs and will resolutely take legal measures to hold the relevant parties accountable to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the company and its employees and to defend a fair competitive environment in the industry.'
