When such decisions are made, there is a feeling that our ruling class does not know the issues of the 80% of the population of this country, which consists of the poor and lower middle class. Because 90% of the people in power and sitting in parliament are hereditary politicians. They are generationally wealthy. They do not know that a large population in our beloved country lives under a joint family system, not due to traditions or love, but because of financial conditions, as they cannot afford separate homes. An ancestral house is inherited, and everyone lives in it as the family grows. The house becomes smaller, but no one is willing to leave because they cannot afford rent. However, in this one house, which has a central entrance, everyone's eating and drinking is separate. The house is not big enough to have separate doors or kitchens. So, someone has a stove in a room, someone in the courtyard, and someone in the veranda. There is one or two washrooms that 20 to 30 people, sometimes more, use. Everyone shares a room, and someone is given a room upstairs in the loft. In short, they adjust in these homes like factory chickens trapped in a small cage. Earlier, when there wasn't such an issue with electricity bills, there was one meter, and the bill was divided among all families. Then electricity rates increased as if electricity is the price of life, leading to fights and disputes in those homes. Everyone accuses each other of using more electricity, saying you use the iron more, you run the water pump more, and your fan keeps running. Air conditioners and room coolers are not used by this class anyway. The disputes escalated to the point where a brother grabbed his brother's collar. Women were always bickering. Then it happened that meters were separated, and somehow these poor people managed to get separate meters, but they couldn't separate their homes. Now our ruling class has decided that one house, one meter. Now tell me, if one meter goes from 200 units to 201, the electricity bill jumps straight from 2000 to 8000. These poor people will perish. Then restlessness, disputes, and violence will increase.
We have heard of cases where a younger brother has killed an older brother due to disputes over electricity bills in Gujranwala.
Do they want this to be implemented in every house now?
If you have indeed enforced this double meter policy for the wealthy class, then they have already switched to solar, and those who remain will also leave. Who will suffer? The poor and lower middle class?? What enmity do you have against this class?? Do they not have the right to live a life better than that of animals???
For God's sake, take some sense. Admittedly, you are not one of us, but you claim to represent us; at least maintain some semblance of that, or declare that this capitalist state is only for the rich and ruling class; it is not a welfare state. 🙏
