$ETH Treasuries Shift from 'Digital Gold' to Yield-Generating Staking 🚀

A new wave of companies is embracing Ethereum for their treasuries, moving beyond Bitcoin's passive “digital gold” model. Firms like SharpLink, BitMine, Bit Digital, and GameSquare are actively staking ETH and leveraging DeFi for yields, aligning with Ethereum's economic ecosystem.

🔍 Key Highlights:

• SharpLink became the largest corporate ETH holder, acquiring 74,656 ETH (~$213M) in July, boosting its total to 280,706 ETH.

• BitMine raised $250M, adding 81,380 ETH to reach 163,000 ETH.

• Bit Digital staked 21,568 ETH for a 3.2% yield in 2024 after raising $172M.

• GameSquare launched an ETH treasury targeting 8-14% DeFi yields with a $5M purchase.

Unlike Bitcoin treasuries relying on debt, these firms use equity to fund ETH holdings, avoiding leverage risks. By staking and engaging in DeFi, they're supporting Ethereum's network while generating returns. Despite risks like price volatility and smart contract exposure, this active, capital-efficient model is gaining traction. 💡
