XRP Hits Record High After 7 Years
The price of XRP has finally set a new record high after seven years, as market enthusiasm for altcoins increases.
On Thursday, according to data from CoinGecko , XRP was trading at USD 3.41, surpassing the previous record of USD 3.40 recorded in January 2018.
In one week, the price of XRP has surged more than 36%.
Quoting decrypt , Friday (18/7/2025), the increase in this crypto coin also surpassed the performance of Ethereum and Solana, which rose 21% and 8% respectively, and far above Bitcoin's weekly increase of only 5.5%.
This price surge makes XRP the world's third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, surpassing the stablecoin Tether (USDT).
XRP's total market value has now surpassed USD 200 billion, while USDT's is around USD 160 billion.
Matt Kreiser, a research analyst at crypto analytics platform Messari, explained that this record demonstrates strong investor confidence in Ripple's mission.
"This is a form of validation of everything they've built," he told Decrypt.
Ripple has long positioned XRP and its network as a regulatory-compliant blockchain designed for institutional needs.
