From 3000 yuan per Bitcoin to 2025, I have lived in the crypto world for a full nine years
In 2016, I first heard about Bitcoin, which was only a bit over 3000 yuan at that time. The crypto world back then was like an underground realm, savage, fierce, and chaotic, yet it captivated me at once.
I am not a tech giant, not a KOL, nor an extraordinarily lucky early investor. I am just an ordinary person, driven by the determination of "having missed Taobao, I can't miss this again," stepping into this world.
🔻 In the first three years, there was only one word: loss.
In the bull market of 2017, I only dared to buy "things that sounded stable," resulting in skyrocketing prices that I was too afraid to enter and plummeting prices that I held onto tightly.
In the bear market of 2018, it was even more of a purgatory—cutting losses, liquidating positions, deleting wallets, almost leaving the circle.
But I didn’t leave. Even in the darkest times, I believed: blockchain has a future.
🔺 In 2019–2020, I began to study seriously:
Researching fundamentals, reading protocols, watching projects, joining communities... but instead, I became more anxious. It was hard to distinguish between true and false; everywhere there were KOLs, tips, and quick money traps.
The real turning point was when I started to "seriously participate in the community." From initially "seeking warmth from others," to later sharing insights, volunteering, managing communities, and writing weekly reports, I gradually discovered: even if the price of coins doesn’t rise, I have become valuable.
The community is not perfect; I have been kicked out, scolded, and overlooked, but I have grown within it, found direction, a sense of connection, and most importantly, regained trust in myself.
⏳ Now it is 2025, and I have been in the circle for nine years.
I do not have financial freedom, but I am still here, and I am more clear-headed than before:
When to get on board
Which projects are worth long-term attention
Which KOLs speak logically, and which are just personas
More importantly, I can persist in doing the right things and walk with the right people
If you ask me, "What is the most worthwhile thing in the crypto world?"
I would say: it’s not about how much money I made, but after experiencing liquidation, zeroing out, and despair, I still believe in myself and still believe in the future.
