According to Techub News and reported by Decrypt, after President Trump signed the (GENIUS Act), Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company plans to ensure that USDT complies with the (GENIUS Act) regulations for foreign stablecoin issuers, allowing it to be traded in the U.S. Ardoino mentioned that Tether still intends to create a U.S.-based stablecoin, while also hoping for USDT to gain GENIUS approval. He indicated that Tether's two products will cater to different needs of various clients in the U.S. For example, USDT may be primarily used for overseas remittances in the U.S.

(GENIUS Act) requires foreign issuers to comply with strict anti-money laundering laws and undergo complex reserve audits. Tether's reserves have never undergone a full audit, but Ardoino has stated that the company plans to conduct audits in the future.
