Donald Trump signed the GENIUS Act, the first major U.S. law regulating cryptocurrency, during a ceremony at the White House.
The law establishes a framework for the $250 billion stablecoin market and was passed by the House of Representatives with bipartisan support.
The price of Bitcoin has so far reacted very sluggishly and is currently nearly one and a half percent lower than yesterday, hovering around $117,800.
