A man committed a crime and the judge asked him to choose one of three punishments:
First punishment: eat a hundred onions
Second punishment: get a hundred lashes
Third punishment: pay a hundred dollars
He consulted his merchant friend, who said: "Eat onions, they are as good as honey."
The man chose onions, but after the sixty-fifth onion his eyes bulged out and he announced that he could eat no more.
He consulted the same merchant friend again, who said: "If you cannot eat onions, an hour of pain is better than a day of pain."
The man chose lashes.
When the number of lashes reached the desired number, his knees began to shake and he shouted: "Enough, I can't take it anymore."
Finally he paid the hundred dollars and said that he wanted to see the governor.
He said to the governor: "I beg you to write on my tombstone: 'Whoever listens to the merchants, he will receive double and triple punishment.'"
The moral of this story is not to trust the words of merchants, especially crypto merchants.
