The European Union has just enacted one of its toughest sanctions packages against Russia, according to Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. The new measures target 105 vessels from Russia's so-called "shadow fleet" and restrict the financing capabilities of Russian banks.

Additionally, the Nord Stream gas pipelines will be blocked, and the price cap on Russian oil has been lowered. Kallas noted that these steps are designed to increase pressure on Russia’s military sector, limit Chinese financial institutions helping to bypass restrictions, and halt the export of drone-related technologies.

The sanctions also extend to the Rosneft oil refinery in India. According to Time and Reuters, citing diplomatic sources, the EU's 18th sanctions package will reduce the oil price ceiling to $47.60 per barrel.

🇪🇪 Estonia’s foreign minister has confirmed these measures, emphasizing that the package includes oil price cuts, banking restrictions, a ban on more than 100 ships, and a halt to Nord Stream developments. "Our message is firm: aggression comes at a cost — and that cost will keep rising," he stated in KH.
