The RGB Protocol smart contract and asset issuance system has announced the launch on the mainnet, which will allow the use of tokenized assets, including stablecoins, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and custom tokens within the $BTC ecosystem.

The founder and CEO of Boosty Labs stated that USDT from Tether will be the first real use case for RGB for confidential and scalable stablecoin transfers on the Bitcoin network. USDT users will have the ability for fast and low-cost transfers thanks to compatibility with the Lightning Network, without the need to use other blockchains with their trust compromise issues.

Existing RGB projects are already prepared to integrate Tether (USDT) into Bitcoin as soon as this capability becomes available.
