$TRUMP 🟡Florida Democratic Congress Members Introduce Bill to Close the 'Alligator Alcatraz' for Being "Inhumane"

Eight Democratic Congress members from Florida presented the "No Cages in the Everglades" bill, which aims to eliminate funding resources for the Department of Homeland Security's immigration detention center in the Everglades of the state, considering it "inhumane and unlawful."

The legislators claim that the so-called 'Alligator Alcatraz' transgresses protected lands, and thus the bill seeks to ensure more transparency, data disclosure, and Congressional oversight for this facility and others like it.

Democratic Congress members condemned the new immigration detention center in the Everglades after visiting it, describing it as overcrowded, unsanitary, and infested with insects. Their Republican colleagues, on the contrary, claimed they had not seen anything like it in the remote facilities.

The 3,000-bed detention center was quickly built by the state of Florida on an isolated airstrip surrounded by swamps.
