Trader Laughs Off $58K Loss From Accidental Token Burn

A blockchain researcher inadvertently destroyed around $58,000 worth of Pump.fun’s PUMP token on Solana but remains unfazed by the blunder. After purchasing $40,000 in the token during a rapid sell-out sale, he mistakenly burned his tokens while clearing out spam via the Axiom Exchange. Believing the PUMP tokens were fake, he sent them to an unrecoverable blockchain address. Hours later, he discovered his error after seeing a tweet about someone else’s similar mishap. Instead of feeling regret, he laughed it off, sharing the story with friends and his girlfriend. Min Yu, who works at SuDo Research in Taiwan, emphasized the importance of focusing on controllable aspects of life, stating, “Since it had already happened and could not be undone, there was nothing to worry about.” Despite his loss, he remains skeptical about the token's future value and had planned to short it. Other traders also reported burning their PUMP tokens, though the reasons remain unclear.
