The name is taken from the protagonist of the classic science fiction novel (Stranger in a Strange Land), written by Robert Heinlein, who also inspired the name of the AI Grok. Musk explained that 'Grok' means to understand something deeply and empathetically, reflecting the core philosophy of the AI's design.
It is worth noting that according to gmgn data, Grok's female AI companion Ani currently has a market value exceeding $88 million, rising by 180% in 24 hours.
