President Donald Trump signed a decree on Wednesday for a law aimed at strengthening measures against illegal fentanyl during a ceremony held in the East Room of the White House.
"Today we struck a blow right at the drug traffickers, drug lords, and criminal cartels that we have heard about for so many years, against whom very little has been done. We are taking a historic step towards justice," said the president, surrounded by lawmakers and families affected by the fentanyl epidemic.
