Deep Tide TechFlow News, on July 17, according to the Bangkok Post, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand and the Bank of Thailand jointly launched a national cryptocurrency sandbox program, allowing foreign tourists to exchange digital assets for Thai Baht for travel consumption. The program is supervised by multiple regulatory agencies and aims to enhance Thailand's tourism competitiveness and promote the application of digital assets. According to the regulations, tourists can only exchange currency through licensed digital asset operators and must spend through regulated electronic payment platforms; direct payment with digital assets is not allowed. Operators approved to participate in the sandbox can provide services for up to 18 months.
